Village – THE MESSAGE OF THE YEAR 2012!
Life in the village is tough – but life here also allows residents to grow and prosper at will. A villager might want to become a monk. Another might feel ambitious and seek a career in public office. A third might want to be luck looking in distant lands.
Each player takes the reins of a family and lets them find fame and glory in many different ways. However, there is one thing you must not forget: time will not stand still for anyone and in time people will disappear. Those who feel immortalized in the village chronicles will bring honor to their families and get one step closer to victory.
Village is a Game full of tactical challenges of Eggert games and Pegasus games. A smart and unique new mechanism of action is responsible for keeping the turns short while still being tactically rich and full of tough decisions. The way in which this game deals with the delicate subject of death is also unique. As a natural and consistent part of village life, thinking about death will make you focus on smart time management.

The Village Influence Stones
In order to carry out certain actions in the village you need the influence stones. The orange stone stands for skill and is needed for travel and craft. The stone of conviction is green and needed at the market and the council chamber. In brown, the stone stands for faith with travel and the church. Pink is also good for travel and craft and represents knowledge. As the last stone there is the one in the color black, which has no influence. However, it stands as a plague stone and shortens the life expectancy of the other players.
Grain harvest – If you have one or more pawns on your farm, you receive two sacks of grain and place them on your tableau. If you also have a horse and a plow you get three sacks of grain, and with an ox and a plow you get four sacks. Each player cannot own more than five sacks of grain.
family – If the family has children, you get a pawn in your color. Another possibility would be that you can put a figure that has not died back in the yard.
Craft – Here you can produce your own goods in one of the five craft buildings. You have the choice whether you pay for the good with time or give up certain influence stones.
market – All players are now allowed to play when they announce a market day. Whoever has triggered the market is also the first to serve a customer. Then it continues clockwise until all customers are served.
travel – With the Travel action you can send a family member on a trip. For the trip you have to hand in a covered wagon and two times. Then it also depends on which path you take and hand in the necessary influence stones. However, you can only collect one marker at a location, even if you end up in the same location again.
Council Chamber – Once you have reached the Council Chamber, you can exert your influence there. Of course, you also have to pay influence stones and scrolls for each activity.
church – Now you take a token from your yard and put it in the black bag. A mass takes place at every game round and also at the end of the game. There, four figures are drawn from the bag and put back in place. You can raise your own figures in the church hierarchy. Whoever can place most of his figures in the church receives two fame points.
Fountain – The fountain represents a substitute action and instead of taking a stone from the action space, you can also place three influence stones of the same color in the supply.
