Hello, you 11 or more friends of Power-Soccer. Writing a biography, I have to say that I am as old as the Federal Republic of Germany. The first words I learned were, "The ball is round!". At that time, it was common to name children Heinz, Fritz or Otto. I grew up in post-war Eimsbüttel (a district of Hamburg – note by the editor). On the streets, so many remnants of the war were lying around that you had to kick at everything and everybody.
At the age of 5, I already experienced my first miracle; that was in 1954, and it happened somewhere in Bern (Switzerland). The teachers of those days were so impressed by this miracle that we children learned few more sentences, such as "The round goes into the square", "our Uwe scored another goal" or "we are the champions" (Germany won the world cup - note by the editor).
At that time, I had already found out that the miracle had to do with a round ball; and a little bit later, I joined a soccer club. For 25 years, my enthusiam, my head, my foot and my heart were dedicated to this "pill". In between, I was dealing with job, family and everything in this context. I was fascinated to see that, among my kids, it was primarily my daughter was carried away with the same enthusiasm.
My conclusion is that soccer is a sport that fills a large part of the population with enthusiam – beyond borders and sex. I got the idea of the game die 50 years later when, at the same time, the second miracle happened, this time in Portugal. The miracle maker, called Otto, was anointed as God without further ado. Thereupon I thought that this divine game must be made accessible to everybody. So I transformed the pretty simple game rules and the thrilling action into a die.
