Stefan Stadler
Hello, my name is Stefan Stadler; I developed the game Cuba along with my good friend Michael Rieneck. This is our second publication together and our first game at eggertspiele.

Although I actually learned bookselling as a profession, I've been lucky enough to deal with games all day long for the last two years. Since I'm an editor at a big game company, the development of my own game ideas unfortunately had to take a bit of a back seat lately.

For a couple of years, I've been living in Karlsruhe again; I was born in the beautiful area of Westpfalz in 1973. There, 20 years ago, I started my "game player career" – in the beginning with role playing games; but soon, I "defected" to board and card games. Although I always tinkered with my own game ideas, I could never imagine becoming a game author. In 2004, Michael first had to persuade me to make a game with him; soon after that, this project was followed by a second one, the result of which is now Cuba.

My favorite games allow the players a high degree of freedom of decision. I don't mind an element of luck in the game; the players should just be able to react in an appropriate way. And each game should play differently so that the game doesn't get boring quickly. I also try to accomplish this in my game ideas.

In case I don't play games in my leisure time, I'm probably watching soccer, reading or visiting a concert in one of the music clubs in Karlsruhe. But not on Sunday evenings; at this time, American Football – the NFL – is running on my TV.
